March 28, 2026 from 10am-1:30pm - "Paint with Pencils"
“Paint with Pencils” is a fun and informative class that is open to all skill levels. Create colorful art and improve your drawing skills while exercising the principles of color theory, value and composition, using graphite pencil, colored pencils, and optional watercolor pencils!
The versatility of colored pencils allows the artist to create either opaque paint-like finishes or light and subtle pastel blends. The addition of optional watercolor pencils adds even more versatility by enabling sharp lines or soft washes, blends, and vignettes. And, both mediums can be used together or individually!
There will be a short discussion on color theory, followed by blending and matching sample color sections to prepare for the application on your art work.
The instructor will bring reference pictures but students can bring their own simple reference photo of their choice, such as a flower, cactus or still life etc., but be sure to notify Carla in advance at teachnpaint@gmail.com if you are at the beginner skill level.
So, bring along your creativity and learn to go beyond your reference photo to create life and atmosphere. Join us; you’ll be impressed with what you can accomplish!
