Events - Event View

This class will offer students the knowledge and experience of painting the various types of skies.

We will begin with a simple, cloudless gradated sky. Students will be given information on colors, brushes and painting techniques used for this type of sky. We will advance to a sky with a more dramatic cloud formation, once again, covering the colors, brushes and techniques used to accomplish this task.

If time allows, we will select from a fiery sunset or brilliant sunrise with nature’s incredible display of colors, or the dark, angry sky of an impending storm. This is a challenge for a 5-hour class, but if time runs out, the student should leave with an understanding of how of these types of skies are brought to life on the canvas.

This class is open to oil and acrylic painters of all levels except the absolute beginner.
