October 1 & 8, 2025 from 1:30-4:30pm - Landscape Painting in Oil/Acrylic/Watercolor
The fundamentals of impressionistic representational painting will be the focus while exploring a vast range of subject matter.
The class is open to oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, and gouache. Each class has new content, with daily painting demonstrations and plenty of one-on-one assistance.
Students work from their photo references or those supplied by the instructor. Topics covered: design, value structure, color mixing, and use of edges.
Demos will be conducted using acrylics or watercolor/gouache. However, the universal principles taught apply to a variety of media.
This class won't be in a follow-along step-by-step format where x amount of students will all have the same copied painting. Ultimately, students will understand the how and why of painting so that they can think and troubleshoot on their own to become great painters.
